  • Structured on-site training
  • College learning combined with practical experience
  • Nationally recognised qualifications
  • You’ll develop real skills from day one and progress through formal industry levels.

Trainee or labourer route

For those ready to start working straight away.
  • Join a scaffolding contractor
  • Get your BASE CISRS card
  • Gain site experience
  • Work towards further CISRS qualifications while employed
  • Build experience quickly
Many experienced scaffolders have started this way.

Adult entry and career change

It’s never too late to switch.

If you’re practical, motivated and enjoy working as part of a team, scaffolding can offer a strong career shift with structured progression.

Progression Pathways

Scaffolding isn’t one job. There are many levels that you can progress towards. You could become:

  • An advanced Scaffolder
  • A supervisor
  • A contracts manager
  • A health & safety manager or subject matter expert
  • An estimator
  • A scaffolding designer
  • An instructor or assessor
  • A business owner

Your career can go as far as your ambition takes it.
